Method
- Period: the 2022-2026 council term, 15 November 2022 to today. Only communications addressed to a member of council or their staff are counted ("council offices").
- Organizations counted, chosen because they registered to lobby about ride hailing, delivery apps, e-scooters and bike share: uber-canada-inc, uber-technologies-inc, uber-international-holding-b-v, lyft-canada-inc, lyft-inc, bolt-services-ca-inc, bolt-services-ca-inc-d-b-a-hopp-bolt, bolt-technology-ou, scooty-mobility-inc, bird-canada-inc, bird-rides-inc, bird-global-inc-a-delaware-corporation, neuron-mobility-canada-limited, neuron-mobility-pte-ltd, lime-technology-inc, lime-technologies. Organizations the registry lists under other names are not counted unless lobbyTO has merged them into one of these.
- Share of all lobbying: these organizations' communications with council offices divided by all communications with council offices in the period.
Limitations
- Counts are communications lobbyists recorded in the City of Toronto Lobbyist Registry. Contacts that were not registered are not counted.
- A communication counts toward a council office when the registry names the member or a member of their staff; lobbyTO resolves those names to members.
- A recorded contact shows that a lobbyist reached an office. It does not show what was said, or how the member voted or acted afterwards.
